NZSTT Represents NZ at World Competition - The New Zealand School of Travel & Tourism

NZSTT places high priority on computer literacy and incorporates Microsoft Office Specialist Certification into its travel and tourism training. The certification exam is administered during the first semester so that students use their IT skills throughout the rest of the course.

NZSTT students have claimed nine out of the top ten MOS scores in New Zealand for the past two years. In 2006 two NZSTT Christchurch students were the Microsoft Office Specialist New Zealand Winners.

Rachel Jamison scored 100% and the fastest test completion time in the MOS Core Exam and Melissa Gaskell top scored in Excel. Escorted by NZSTT MOS Tutor Rob Fenton, both students traveled to Orlando, Florida to represent New Zealand at the MOS World Championships.

“It was a much harder test, but although we didn’t win, we still passed” says Rachel who graduated with a National Certificate in Travel Level 3 and 4 last year. She is currently completing Level 5 studies at NZSTT and expects to graduate in December with a National Diploma in Tourism Management and a National Diploma in Business.
