There is so much to do in your free time – adventure activities or peaceful walks in green parks or on city beaches. Just a few hours drive out of Auckland you will find the scenic delights of tropical Northland, the ski fields and rivers of the central North Island and the secluded beaches of the Coromandel Peninsula.

Do not miss visiting the Bay of Islands, where swimming with the dolphins is a highlight and the popular Rotorua hot springs with its mud baths and geysers.

In summer, the weather gets very warm and quite humid. Temperatures range from 18C to 25C, spring to summer. In winter, Auckland can get very cold and warm clothing is highly recommended. Temperatures range from 12C to 1C, autumn to winter.
